The Journal of Applied Research in Education (JARE) is the flagship journal of the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, University of Brunei Darussalam. It aims to publish research and scholarly comment with a research focus in all areas of education and at all levels in Brunei Darussalam, ASEAN and the wider world. There is no preference given to any particular methodology. JARE invites submissions for the following categories:
- Full-length articles presenting empirical research in education and accounts of innovations in teaching and learning, reporting original data obtained through sound research methods.
- Succinct, evaluative reviews of recent books in education. (c) Comments on significant development in education.
Current review process
JARE accepts manuscripts throughout the year. We will accept manuscripts until 30th of June for publication in the same year. Manuscripts received after that date will normally be considered for publication the following year. The current review process is as follows: receiving a manuscript; acknowledging its reception to the author, or requesting for re-submission depending upon compliance with the submission requirements; sending it to an external reviewer; receiving the review results, and sending the results to the author.
